Up for auction is this vintage Gilbert American Flyer 290 Pacific 4-6-2 S- gauge Train Set. Expanded from the 4904T set, which was made in the USA between 1949 and 1952. Based on a design from the New York, New Haven Hartford locomotive, this is an early version with only the 290 on the engine. Set was from an estate and includes locomotive and tender, 7 cars, 51 pcs of track and transformer. Not tested as the original cord on the transformer is in pretty rough shape.Specifically includes:1) 290 Pacific Locomotive and Tender1) spare 290 locomotive for parts1) #1 25 watt transformer ( will need rewired)1) #629 Missouri Pacific stock car1) #942 Seabord box car1) #923 Illinois Central refrigerator car1) #925 Gulf tank car1) #940 Wabash hopper car1) #627 C&NW flat car1) #930 American Flyer Caboose23) #702 Curved track28) #700 Straight trackEverything in the set with the exception of the transformer, is in very good condition. Everything you need to set up your American Flyer train, including the spare engine for parts!! Again, I am no sure this works as I have no way to test it.
