Today's offering is a nicely-preserved edition of Gillette 's famous Tech series, the gold Ball End Tech with no date code, indicating a manufacture date in the range of approximately 1946-1950 .As seen by the pictures, this one is in Excellent shape with only a bit of the "mottling" that seems so very common on these types. More of a gold "wash", the gold on Gillette's Ball End Techs have a tendency to "leak", resembling a dye that has become rinsed in water and allowed to dry, forming areas of dark and light. This one seems to be mostly free of this tendency, and the gold is fairly even in its coverage. Areas along the edges and a few other spots on the surface of the head cap are beginning to show this, however.Exhibiting a remarkable tendency to deliver a shave quality similar to the stock Super Speed, these razors were very popular with the travel set, as well as with the military, throughout the war years and well into the 1950's and early 1960's. Ball End Techs of this type were apparently discontinued around 1962 and replaced with other designs ( including aluminum handles ) that lasted well into the 1970's.Following my usual procedure, he's been cleaned, sanitized and inspected for integrity and he's ready for travel to the winning bidder!Sale price is $21.95* or Best Offer .* Shipping to all USA locations via USPS First
