ATTENTION GIRL SCOUT MEMORABILIA COLLECTORS!! THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A PIECE OF GIRL SCOUTING HISTORY FROM (I believe) THE 1940's or 50's! THIS UNIFORM IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. IT INCLUDES THE TOP WITH BELT, SKIRT AND HAT.FIRST, LET ME SAY THAT I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN GIRL SCOUT UNIFORMS. NEVERTHELESS, THIS UNIFORM IS VERY MUCH IN WEARABLE CONDITION AND WOULD BE GREAT FOR A HISTORICAL RE-ENACTMENT AT A JAMBOREE, OR AS AN EXHIBIT PIECE. AS ONE WOULD EXPECT THOUGH WITH A UNIFORM OF THIS AGE, T ARE A FEW TINY STAINS ON THE TOP AND ONE SMALL HOLE ON THE SLEEVE. I HAVE INCLUDED A CLOSEUP PICTURES OF THE HOLE. THE SMALL STAINS MAY COME OUT, BUT I AM NOT ABOUT TO LAUNDER THIS UNIFORM!! THE SEAMS ARE VERY SOLID. THE TOP HAS "GS" STITCHED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE COLLAR AND 4 MERIT BADGES THAT ARE HAND SEWN ON. IT HAS 3 BUTTONS TO CLOSE THE TOP, A BUTTON ON EACH SHOULDER, A BUTTON ON EACH CHEST POCKET, A BUTTON ON THE BELT AND 2 BUTTONS ON EACH CUFF. THE BUTTONS ARE METAL. THE UNIFORM HAS ALL IT'S BUTTONS. THE ORIGINAL GIRL SCOUTS TAG IS SEWN INTO THE TOP. IT STATES: GS TRADEMARK GIRL SCOUTS INC. "REG US PAT." LOT SIZE 16THE SKIRT HAS 2 POCKETS IN THE FRONT WITH A BUTTON ON EACH POCKET. IT CLOSES WITH 3 HOOKS AND EYES. T IS A BLACK WAISTBAND. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS WAS ADDED ON. T ARE NO TAGS ON THE SKIRT. T IS A 1 ½ INCH RIP JUST BELOW THE WAISTBAND.THE TOP, THE SKIRT AND THE HAT ALL HAVE THE OFFICIAL GIRL SCOUTS INC. TRADE MARK STAMPED IN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE MATERIAL.THE HAT IS BOONIE-STYLE, ALL CLOTH WITH THE GIRL SCOUT LOGO EMBROIDERED IN DARK GREEN THREAD ON THE FRONT. THE INSIDE TAG STATES IT TO BE A SIZE 7 ¾. T IS WRITING ON THE TAG...I CAN'T MAKE IT OUT BUT IT APPEARS TO BE THE GIRL SCOUTS NAME. I GUARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE UNIFORM, BUT MAKE NO GUARANTEES REGARDING THE AGE OF IT. 1940'S TO 1950'S IS MY BEST ESTIMATE GIVEN THE INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO ME.
