This beautiful vintage dress is circa 1940's or 50's. Gloria Swanson by Forever Young label. It's a 2 piece style. Dress is silky rayon with linen bolero style jacket. The jacket has cloth covered buttons, 3/4 length sleeves, slight shoulder pads, and amazing bright orange detailed embroidery accent. Jacket lining is the same beautiful fabric as the dress, off white dotted on somewhat shimmery golden brown background . Dress has a stunning v-style sweetheart neckline with contrasting linen insert to match the jacket. There is a metal zipper on the side and 2 soft pleats at the waist in the front, and a kick pleat at the back. Belt has a deeper shade of orange contrasting through the center. Dress has 2 quite small holes, I'm assuming cigarette burns, since just about everyone smoked back in those days and an ash falling on this type of fabric would indeed have left a hole like these two. Near one, there's a slightly darker area, smaller than the size of a dime, not very noticable. The holes could be repaired by using hem material, but they are very small and barely noticable. Label states size as 14. Vintage 14 is about a size 6 today. Jacket measures- 38" bust, 30" waist, 16" across shoulders, 17" length, 13" sleeve length from inseam.
