I understand from a kind informant that this Chalice is quite rare. One, the sterling is 952 with very little copper alloy and two, Gorham only made this type for two years, and lastly, some of the work is hand done, rather than casting. See the note below in the questions from buyers. WoW! Best of luck bidding for this fine and rare piece. Well, another kind informant suggested that I look closely at the paten for a sterling mark, I did and it is tiny and close to the rim on the front side. Since it is sterling, I will add that t are two slight dents on the rim of it and it is tarnished. Also, I don't know if it is Gorham matching the chalice since it is only marked sterling. Any other wise men/women out t that might know if the paten is Gorham??? Best again.
