Biographical information on Ms. Laffi can be readily found online. The figural fish brooch has maximum dimensions of 2" x 1 3/8". The workmanship is wonderful, including a second layer of applied silver comprising the tail and central fins. The piece is decorated with incised lines, peening to represent scales, and additional peening on the body. The eye is a bezel set with green enameling. The brooch has a locking clasp. The marks are struck at the end of the large fin. The piece is marked "PERU G. LAFFI 925". Condition The brooch is in excellent condition and the clasp is in excellent working condition.
