This pot or vase is Greek as can be seen by the base stamp shown in pic #4. It is in a blue that is synonymous with Greek islands and shows a bisque-type of finish to the bottom half which is topped with a shiny and thickly applied blue slip. This has bubbled during firing and there are some pleasing textural points which show where the slip bubbles have burst; there is also some tonal variation to the shiny slip with various random streaks of white mottled into the blue. Shaped like a mediterranean oil jar, this makes a perfect pot or brush for the home. Excellent condition. Height: 7.5 inches/ 19 cms
