This is a beautiful set of bookends! The detail of the mythological Griffins
is amazing. The griffins appear to be bronze, but we are not certain. They ARE NOT a white pot metal / spelter. The photo does not do these pieces justice. They have a wonderful patina and the black veined bases are beautiful. The bottom of the marble has a green felt type paper. They have no labels or markings as to manufacturer. Now for the condition: one bookend has a few small chips on back edge of marble. The griffin on this one is slightly loose. To secure it the original felt paper would need to be removed to access the bolt. I don`t want to remove the paper so I will leave that to the winner. The other bookend has the tip of one wing bent. Please look at photo. Dimensions are 6 1/2âe high, 4âe wide, 3 1/2 âeoe deep. We are selling antiques and collectibles and used or older items which will have imperfections, wear, minor damage, sometimes odors (we cannot guarantee that the item has never been exposed to cigarette smoke, perfumes or pets), or other age or use related issues. It is not possible to note every scratch, wear area, fleck, glaze pop or miss, loose thread, faded area, rust spot, etc. We will do our best to note any damage that is obvious, visible, disfiguring, or beyond ordinary wear. We are more than happy to provide additional photos if asked before packing. If something is not clear, donâe(tm)t guess or assume, please ask. If we are not familiar with an item we may not know if something is missing, or if it is "right", and that lack of knowledge is not an attempt to deceive. Photos are part of the description. Buyer pays all shipping charges. Insurance is optional, but strongly recommended. Payment due within 7 days of auction end. Sorry, we can only accept PAYPAL now. SHIPPING: DO NOT PAY UNTIL INVOICED PLEASE! The total from the shipping calculator will probably be more than actual shipping for several reasons! âe¢ Estimated box size and weight will be on the high side as a caution to make sure we do not lose money, occasionally it may be higher than guestimated. The shipping calculator is a guide and not guaranteed to be correct, it will be close most the time but not always. âe¢ Typically we ship by Priority Mail only, when possible will ship by less expensive means. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: Insurance is required on all auctions so no first class international, sorry. The auction sold price is the only amount that will be used on insurance or customs forms. If an item can not be insured to your country for the auction price or it is prohibited to ship that type of item to your country we may have to sell to the back bidder, it is your responsibility to know your country's limits and restrictions. Paypal requires signature confirmation for anything over 250.00, so we require it also for our own protection. DAMAGE/RETURN POLICY: If you receive a damaged item either party can start a claim, do not throw away the box or packing materials until it is inspected. All sales are final unless item is significantly different than we described, contact us within 3 days of receipt so that we can reach an agreement we are both satisfied with, either a return or partial refund. Since the change to the feedback system we have seen several attempts at veiled or subtle threats from bidders trying to extort partial refunds - we will report any such threat to ebay.
