Up for bid a lovely Royal Winton Grimwades Chintz Countess bed side tea service set for one. From the late 1940's and 1950's. It consists of 6 pieces including the covered tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl, tray, a single cup, and toast holder. The tray measures 10 1/2 by 8 3/4" with handles and a raised rim. It has gently rounded gold gilding trim edges. T is one chip inside, right at the outer edge. Does have age crazing. No cracks. The covered tea pot measures 4" tall, 5 1/4" from handle to spout, and is about 3" in diameter. Imperfection to note is a tiny shallow flake at the base of the spout and two tiny chips on the inside of the tea pot rim. Not seen with the lid on. (see photo's) No cracks or crazing. Marked Countess on the bottom. The lid covering is fine with no chips, cracks or crazing. The creamer stands 2 1/4" tall, measures 3 1/4" from handle to spout. The sugar bowl stands 1 1/4" tall and is 2" in diameter at the top. Creamer and sugar bowl are both is in wonderful condition with no chips, crack, or crazing. The cup measures 2 3/4" tall and 3 1/4" in diameter. Wonderful condition with no chips or cracks. Does have age crazing. The toast holder is 2 3/4" by 2 3/8" and is 2" tall. This piece has been repaired, at some time it was glued back together (see photo's) No chips, does have age crazing. Simply a lovely vintage Royal Winton tea set to use and display.
