Vintage Guardian Service Cookware 4 quart pan, cooker or pot with domed lid Up for bid is a 4 quart pan, cooker or pot with domed lid made by the Century Metalcraft Corporation of Los Angeles , California , from the 1930's to 1956. This popular aluminum cook ware was very popular during the 30s thru the 50s and still is popular today for many reasons including: n the pans are made of hammered aluminum and are heavy duty n using the waterless cooking method, food retains it's good taste, nutritional value and texture n the pans can be used for cooking and then can be used right on the table to serve from because of their attractive design n the bases are designed to provide uniform cooking n the domed lids of the tops are designed so that the food's moisture will condense and fall back on the food while it is being cooked This pan with its aluminum lid was manufactured prior to WW II. During WW II metals, including aluminum, were rationed so the company began making glass lids for the cookware. With the aluminum lid that comes with this pan, you will not ever have to worry about cracks or chips to a glass lid.
