This is an absolutely stunning chocolate pot that is marked on the bottom with Habsburg (crown) Hand Painted Made In Austria. This wonderful pot has pink and red roses on a background of blues, greens and yellow. The artwork is very life-like and the artist painted the reverse side of the pot with a single red rose. I noticed in the photos that the pot appears to have wide ribs but that is an illusion. The artist has signed his work, and appropriately so. I believe the signature to read P. Dufour and it is located on the front of the pot just above the lowest red rose. The contrast between style of chocolate pot and the effusion of roses makes me believe this was made just as Art Noveau was giving sway to Art Deco. This glorious creation measures approx. 9 7/8" tall overall, approx. 6 1/2" wide from tip of spout to outer edge of handle, and has a base diameter of approx. 4 1/16". The bottom of the chocolate pot shows crazing, the exterior of the pot shows no crazing even under magnification. Don't pass this one up - you will never find another like it!!
