This is a pop-out paper witch hat. The cardboard brim measures 13 1/2 x12 and is encircled by black cats. The edge of the brim has a small tear and a water spot. The paper pointed tip has a Witch on one side and the Devil on the other. After doing some research I found out that this type of party hat was made in Germany from the mid-1920's through the 1930's. Typically paper party items of this type were disposed of after use, so to find them and in this condition is really quite a treat. I came across these halloween hats and some other "treasures" while foraging at a local dump in the early 80's. We were delighted to have found the discarded contents of a very old inactive Service Station. I stashed the treasures away for years and share them now with the lucky "ebayers" of the World. One of these hats is featured on page 206 in the Second Edition of Mark B. Ledenbach's book : Vintage Halloween Collectibles - An Identification & Price Guide. He valued it at $75. Thank you for viewing my Auction, happy bidding and Happy Halloween !!!
