Welcome to OurAuctions! Vintage Hand Blown Green Jamestown Glass Cruet Pitcher No Reserve Presenting this Fantastic Vintage Hand Blown Green Jamestown small cruet style pitcher. This is a replica of the original hand blown glass from the Jamestown, Virginia Glasshouse of 1608. The 17th century techniques were used to create this piece. The pitcher has the enchanting bubbles and a pontil mark on the bottom and the sticker designating it as Hand Blown, Jamestown, VA. The cruet pitcher measures 4¾" tall, 3" in width. It has the unusual square shape with rounded corners then tapers into a narrow neck and spout. Fragments of the original green glass have provided the key to proper color and composition, so that the glass has the same appearance today, as it did originally. Each piece is unique and one of a kind, as no two pieces are identical. T is a distinctive mark on the bottom of the glass which is called the pontil mark and is a sign of hand blown glass. This cruet was acquired by my 90 year old grandmother in the early 1970's for her antique store. She says it is time to find it a new china cabinet or shelf in a good home.
