This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL vintage hand-painted compact by Evans. Silver-tone -- possibly stainless steel -- with hand-painted floral and celestial designs atop raised detailing. Front and back is covered with intricate scribed details. Closes with a tiny ball hinge that functions perfectly. When closed, the compact measures 3 5/8" long, including the handle, 2 3/16" wide at the widest point, and 5/16" at the smallest point. When open, it measures approx. 6". Inside accommodates, on one side, a covered loose powder well with a swivel lid and comes complete with original 1 1/2" powder puff. On the other side, t is also, what appears to be, a rouge pad with only a tiny bit of fuschia-colored rouge left, along side a perfectly preserved half-round mirror. The name "EVANS" is stamped between the two. This is a great little piece in very nice used condition. Only minor wear on the back of the case and a small bit of blue paint is missing from the upper tip of the crescent moon on the front.
