What a fitting day today is to start this auction. Errol Flynn was born exactly 104 years ago today ... 20 June 1909!This note was found at an estate sale of an ex-Hollywood producer (Don Parker) and his wife Ele. The wife was a school teacher in her early career and this note contains her maiden name (Ele Arnold). The note itself was hand-written by Errol Flynn to his daughter's teacher asking her to excuse the daughter for being late to school. It reads:Dear Miss Arnold, Would you please excuse Rory for being a bit late? I had no car available to get her promptly to school. Kindest personal regards, Errol Flynn Rory Flynn was the second daughter of Flynn and his 2nd wife, Nora Eddington, a Hollywood actress at the time. To make it even more interesting, the note is written on Flynn's personal stationery from his beloved schooner, Zaca. This schooner has quite a bit of interesting history itself, was featured in a few of his movies and now sails as a charter yacht in the waters of Monaco.
