This beautifully crafted, hand carved 10 piece Anri Nativity has the 6 inch tall figures based on the height of Joseph, which is 6 inches, with the other pieces is proportion to him. These specific Anri nativity pieces are in the included Anri catalog brochure as style number number #79700 for this height and designer. Carefully handmade, these extremely detailed wood carvings were originally designed by Prof. Karl Kuolt for Anri and bears his name on the bottom in the form of a green and gold metallic labels. In beautiful original condition, these piece have been well cared for over the past 22 years and are lightly washed in color to allow the beautiful woodtone and qualities of handcarving to show thru. Prof. Kuolt was born in Spaichingen, Germany in 1878 and was a pupil of the Munich School Of Art and From 1910 thru 1914 the Munich Academy. Besides being the original creator of this wonderful figurine and the other pieces that make up the nativity group that bears his name, Prof. Kuolt also created a large number of public monuments and memorial chapels throughout Southern Germany.Purchased at a greater Atlanta area estate sale, this fantastic nativity group was originally acquired on a trip to Bavaria in 1986, and most of the pieces are marked in pencil on the botton 12/86 along with the Kuolt label and the kneeling shepherd
