Vintage HANDPIECED FEEDSACK QUILT TOP, 92" x 77" This appears to be neatly hand pieced, and measures approximately 92" x 77" including the purplish (lavender?) color border. (I've found large fabric items to be hard to measure, but I measured at several places in both directions and that's as close as I could get to a consistent measurement all over.) As you can see in some of the photos, some of the stitching holes from the edges of old feed sacks or flour sacks are still visible, so I assume this is mostly if not all vintage cotton fabric, possibly from the 40's when feed sack fabrics were so commonly used. The pattern looks like a bow-tie design of some sort. The fabric looks like good condition to me for the age, I didn't see any significant damage, but t ARE age spots, darkened areas, and such, as expected with old quilt tops. Though I didn't see it when I was taking photos, I also later saw a small "L" shaped 1/2 inch tear near the outer edge of the purple border, but far enough over that it would probably be turned to the back when quilted. T could be more, but this is the only one I noticed myself. I am not experienced enough to know how to wash it so it's still exactly as found at an estate sale. It looks to me as if it were all pressed before it was put away and looks as if it were well taken care of. The most significant spot or stain is very noticeable in one side of a bow-tie, and will be mentioned next to it's picture below. T's no way for me to know if all the age spots and such will come out or not, so I won't try to guess. From quilt tops I've seen in the past though over the years, I personally consider this to be one of the best condition I've ever found, but I'm no expert and am not a quilter, that's just my own observation from finding them at occasional estate sales. View the photos and make up your own mind, please. The photos below are taken with the quilt across a king sized bed, on a clean sheet, to show all of it in as good of detail as I could. It was difficult to get the room lighted brightly enough, so I have lightened up some of the photos slightly with photo software. That may make some colors in the quilt top to appear lighter or darker between different photos, but the fabric is not actually faded, it's only the way the pictures came out. Worst stain but the only obvious one I could see from standing back. I turned the quilt around 1/4th turn on the bed to show it from a different angle. Buyer in the U.S. pays s&h via Parcel Post or Priority Mail, your choice. Put your zip code in ebay's shipping calculator further down below to find the cost to your zone. Insurance is optional. If you win more than one auction from me, please wait to pay until I send you a combined invoice the next day, and your total postage will be lower (as long as items can be safely shipped together). No international shipping at this time unless you contact me before you bid so that I can first confirm packaging size for airmail & let you know the cost to ship to your country. I've found that t are too many variables to use a generic calculator when shipping outside the United States. Thank you for your patience. Please Note** I will only accept returns under certain conditions, such as if the wrong item is shipped or it was grossly misrepresented. As you can see from my feedback, those things do not ordinarily occur in my auctions. I am a human being however, so if human error ever does occur, I will make it right. The customer must email me first upon receipt, and if it's deemed that a refund is warranted, the item must then be received back in exactly the same condition it was shipped, within 7 days. Refunds will not be given when it's obvious that the customer did not read the description or view the photos, or because the color doesn't match the settings on their own monitor, or they changed their mind...
