This auction is for a vintage handwritten diary from Westminster, MD. It is written in a pocket notebook and all the pages are full. The date on the entry is 1901. This makes fascinating reading of a time long gone. I think that the author was a farm wife because a lot of the entries talk about plants and weather. Westminster was a very rural area, made of mostly farms. A sample entry reads, " Monday Nov 18 Somewhat milder, but cloudy & threatening snow. I was up nearly all day. Got another guinea of Mrs. M. Got 4 last week. Bought a dress at 38 cts a yd. Today it was @ 39 a yard." Also included is a small leaflet that was inside titled "Bottled Sunshine". I am listing several other diaries from this estate, I believe all from the same woman. Shipping is free. These are a fantastic find for the collector of ephemera!
