This is a Vintage Hanging Blue Scarecrows Salt and Pepper Shaker Set with Metal Wire Hanger Made in Japan.Condition: The shakers are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The bottom of one shaker has small oval blue paper label that reads Japan . Both shakers are complete with their original cork stoppers. The metal hanger is in good condition with no bends, breaks or repairs. The set is in great vintage condition with very little paint loss, fading or crazing and show no signs of use or wear.Description: The shakers were made in Japan sometime in the mid-century and are in the shape of a colorful blue hanging scarecrows. They are dressed in light blue pants and suit jackets with dark blue highlights and have pink scarves tied around in their necks. The scarecrows have yellow straw hats accented in dark brown atop their heads with brown tufts of hair poking out. Their blushing faces are white in color and have vertical stitch marks across the front and sides and have blushing rosy pink cheeks. One scarecrow has closed eyes with stitched eyebrows and a stitched smiling mouth. The other scarecrow has sad droopy eyes and small round open mouth. The scarecrows have their arms bent backwards and hang from a brass colored metal hanger or stand. The shakers are wonderfully hand painted and feature beautiful rich colors
