READ THE DESCRIPTIONS SCRUTINIZE THE PICTURES ASK QUESTIONS NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS This is a heavy, two-piece silver-plate mug made by the Hartford Silver Plate Company. The mug's top edge is heavily ornamented with a floral design, and the mug's body has a fancy plume. The top of the mug separates from the base and can be used to create a formidable lather (see below, because I was curious). The mug's base is marked, " Hartford Silver Co. Quadruple Plate , 2303." The Hartford Silver Plate Co was listed in Hartford CT c ity Directories from 1881 to 1893. The mug i s in good condition, and the plating is intact except for the base of the dish, and the bottom of the mug (see pictures). To use the mug, separate the mug's parts. Warm under hot water. Fill bottom with hot water and insert brush to soak. Add shaving product to top half, still detached and warm from water. Remove brush, refill bottom half with hot water, replace top and drip excess water from brush. Whisk lather. Insurance is required on all shipments and will be chargedwith a handling fee and included in the shipping quote. Handling fee reflects Ebay’s change in policy where they now charge the seller a 10% commission on the shipping costs.
