Vintage HERMAN MILLER Wilkes PURPLE Chiclet Sofa Up for auction is an original vintage Herman Miller, Ray Wilkes designed, "Chiclet" Sofa. This sofa is a perfect match of design & comfort!!! Excellent scale works well in SO many areas!! Use in unique places w a conventional sofa will not fit. This would make great additional seating in a den, office, foyer...anyw! Rich & vibrant purple colored ORIGINAL fabric! Soft & smooshy foams covers everything-arms, sides, seats, & back. Double stitched seaming & solid steel frame is incredibly sturdy. Tagged on the bottom with original Herman Miller label-circa 1970's . The sofa is in very good vintage condition. T are a few smudges on the fabric & t, but it is surface level-nothing serious. We have not attempted to clean the fabric, it doesn't need much anyways. The fabric has aged beautifully over time. It has changed to a slightly lighter hue in some areas. I believe this only adds to its vintage appeal & "one of a kind" style. Lastly, t is one tiny pin size hole on the cushion. I thought it would be a good idea to take a bit of fabric from extra scrap on the base to make a tiny patch--but it is not even a big deal...I figured the winner could make the choice. This sofa has not been retouched or restored--it is all original. Some minor vintage wear should be expected on a completely original unrestored mid century sofa.
