For auction is a very nice, two piece set of Old Hickory Tru-Edge Ontario Chef Knives. Knives are stamped Ontario Knife Co. Tru-Edge, Made in USA, Old Hickory. Includes the following: 10" blade butcher knife, 15-1/2" overall, 5/64" blade thickness at top heel. 8" blade butcher knife, 13" overall, 5/64" blade thickness at top heel. The knives are in good condition for their age. Carbon steel b lades are sharp and straight. No gouges, dings, chips or cracks. Tips and points are good. Typical peppering for this type steel. The blades do show some minor, previous sharpening indications. Very nice, vintage patina. The large knife does have a fairly large peppering, or stain / discoloration area on one side of the blade. Half-tang blades have a very nicely aged finish patina, typical for a blade of this type and age. Wood handles are tight, with solid brass rivets, no cracks. Handles show minor, but typical indications of wear and use. I have not sharpened these knives. They may need a sharpening or edge honing for best performance. I do my best to describemy items as accurately as possible. Due to the vintage /used nature of some items I sell, they will likely show some normal signs of age and / or use, unless otherwise described.
