VINTAGE HITCHCOCK CHAIR CO. POST CARD LADIES WRITING DESK Description VINTAGE HITCHCOCK CHAIR CO. LADIES POST CARD WRITING DESK This auction is for Great Ladies Post Card Writing Desk made and signed by L. Hitchcock Chair Co. of Hitchcockville , Conn. This Post Card Desk is all original and the finish is great condition and of course this is made of solid wood. The design of this desk is very different with great lines and style. This desk is very solid and sturdy. The Gold stenciling, hand painted gold accents, the top of the desk has a hand painted line on the outside edge, inside of the drawer has a paper ad and the original hardware are also in great condition. The desk is 32" wide, 17-1/2" deep and a total of 38 -1/2" tall to the top of the Post Card Section. The desk writing surface is 29 -1/2" from the floor. The drawer front is 29-1/2" wide and 3" tall, the inside of the drawer is 18 - 3/4" wide and 13" deep. The post card top comes off from the writing desk and this still has the 3 original brass screws and washers. The legs of this desk do come off , just like all of the original desks /tables. This will be for easier shipping. This is NOT a copy or a knock off.Shipping by Greyhound package express will be the least expensive way for shipping.
