HMV 102 Portable Gramophone in blue circa 1930's, very rare. We have for sale a 1930’s Blue HMV 102 (His masters Voice) portable gramophone, in excellent condition. The blue colour variation is one of the rarest gramophones of this period and is always sought after by Gramophone collectors and those with an eye for the Art Deco era.The gramophone has an auto brake, which starts and stops the 78 record automatically. This can be switched off by means of a lever to the right hand side of the deck.All parts are original to the machine and in excellent order the chrome work to the sound arm, speed regulator, brake and auto brake on/off switch are in good condition, as you will see from the video.The main body and Rexene are in excellent condition, including the original leather handle to the side of the gramophone for easy transportation. This handle has had a slight repair but still does the job of transporting the item when needed.On this gramophone we have the record transporter a devise that replaces the older compartment in the lid of the 101's, which is used to carry 78's when out for a picnic etc. Very often this item has been discarded or lost over time but very nice to see this original feature with the gramophone.The handy side, slide-out compartment intigrated into the body of the gramophone containsa large selection of new
