Fresh out of a Moultonboro Estate sale is this vintage Horse weathervane with over 90% of it's gilding . This is a hollow body copper weathervane in the design of a trotting horse. It measures 26 inches from tail to nose and is 17 inches from hoof to ear. Some bending around the ears ( shown in photos ) and a bump on the right side body which is typical of a weathervane of this age. The directionals and two different size copper balls as well as the upright rod are included. The wood base in the photos is NOT included as the weight would cost mailing charges to go way up and you can buy a piece of wood locally and make a nice stand cheaper than I could mail this piece which is just a scrap from my workshop and did not come with the weathervane. T are some cracks and small holes on the seam but these are very minor. The front shoulders have great detail showing the muscles and the tail and mane are also highly detailed. The support rod has heavy wear at the end ( this is good) as it proves it has age and it's been in the weather and has worn from being turned by the wind( see photo ) I sold an eagle weathervane earlier this year that I thought was as nice as I had seen but this is equal to the eagle weathervane in condition and detail.
