~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ ~*This BEAUTIFUL textile is a roll of hand woven, homespun, antique European hemp that measures 11yards long by 20.5 inches wide~~ STUNNING! ~ A wonderful and rare dashed striped antique, homespun European linen !!!~ This wonderful roll of linen was hand woven in the late 1800's or early 1900's to use for grain sacking fabric. It has the most wonderful and rare dashed striped!!~ the color of the stripe is a beautiful, natural red. The tone of one side of this linen is a pale natural tone and the other side is a slightly warmer tone of natural!!~ GORGEOUS plain weave. Floppy springy hand! ~*~ This fabric is wonderfully durable and was built to stand the test of time. So easy to maintain with simple machine washing! ~ Ideal for upholstery, blinds, pillows, bedding, slipcover , curtains, tablecloths you name it! ~*~ Please see simple washing instructions below~*~ ~ ~*~*~ I just LOVE knowing that my textiles are grown and produced without the use of pesticides and chemicals~ LOVELY organic fabric~*~* naturally wonderful~*~* ~*~* I have attached some photographs of my textiles being used near the end of the auction~ :) Furniture not included in this buy it now ~ should you require matching plain yardage, please email me and I can find the yardage that you require~*~* ( I've attached some photographs to the end to show some of the many uses of these gorgeous textiles! ) CONDITION: This length is unwashed and unused! There are some light storage marks that will all wash beautifully! The average age of these textiles is 100 years and they were grown before the use of pesticides ~*~* they were naturally home grown, home retted ( in local lakes and ponds) and woven by hand. These textiles are being re-cycled today and showing off the extreme craftsmanship of past generations! Yet another feature that makes these textiles extremely eco-friendly is their durability. These textiles were designed to endure generations of constant use~ and will have an extremely long life. The timeless beauty of this linen and their extraordinary quality make these textiles the perfect choice for any home~ and an environmentally friendly choice~*~ ~*~This wonderful fabric has so many uses:~*~Upholstery, headboards, bedding, cushions, curtains,clothing, Roman Blinds, bags, ~ so many wonderful sewing projects~*~ ~*~The woman weavers of yesterday would spend their evenings weaving these amazing rolls of linen. It took the average woman 1 night to weave 60 centimeters ( 24 inches) of linen ~*~ These rolls are 100% machine washable, on warm..if there is visible dirt, just add a bit of Oxywash! I like to add Snuggle or similar fabric softener to the final rinse, for added softness~although not necessary~ They are so easy to wash on normal wash cycle, simply spin dry then remove when wet. Roll the linen tightly and let sit overnight. In the morning unroll and allow to dry naturally~ this presses the linen and there is usually no need to iron ( unless you prefer it perfect). If the stripe is very bold, please test before washing to be sure that the stripe will not bleed. If at all in doubt, best to dry clean~*~ They can be either air dried or dried in the tumble dryer for a softer touch~ Pure linen or hemp rolls tend to have no shr...
