UP FOR AUCTION IS AN ANTIQUE HOTEL ROBIDOUX DINNER PLATE... VERY HARD TO FIND... MADE BY SYRACUSE... ABOUT 10 INCHES ACROSS THE CENTER... HOTEL ROBIDOUX WAS NAMED AFTER JOSEPH ROBIDOUX , ST. JOSEPH, MISSOURI'S FOUNDER... HOTEL ROBIDOUX OPENED IN 1908 AND WAS FEATURED AS THE FINEST HOTEL IN THE WEST. IT WAS IMPLODED IN 1976. THE IMPLOSION WAS FEATURED IN A TELEVISION BEER COMMERCIAL.
THE PLATE IS WHITE WITH COBALT BLUE AND SHADES OF BLUE. IT FEATURES THE ROBIDOUX CREST IN THE CENTER WHICH CONSIST OF A SHIELD WITH A SINGLE FLEUR-DE-LIS AND HELMET ABOVE. THERE ARE THREE PLUMES ABOVE THE HELMET WITH STJ AND A BANNER.
IT HAS A VIKING PATTERN BORDER CONSISTING OF SHIP, WAVES AND CLOUDS IN SHADES OF BLUE AROUND THE RIM.
NO CHIPS, CRACKS, BREAKS OR STAINS. SOME UTENSIL MARKS.
