BRIGHT Vintage 1950's (possibly early 1960's) variation of the Hourglass pattern. Each block also includes two 4-patches.Measures - 72" x 85", shown on Queen size bed. See pic 1. Quilting - By hand. Even stitches. See pic 4. Piecing - MachineFront - Blocks are 10" x 10". 56 total. Great polka dots, plaids, stripes. A few areas of noticeable brown stains. See pic 5 and 6. It looks like coffee no one bothered to clean. From an overall view, you can see one area at the foot in pic 1. I just want to shake this person until their teeth rattle. There is one 2 1/2" split seam and one 1". No fabric loss so mendable. See pic 7. No rips, no tears, no holes noticed.Backing - Solid blue the color of a chambray shirt with minimal fading. See pic 9. Same stains from front. See pics 10 and 11. There are several 1/2" to 1 1/2" places missing the hand quilting. Noticeable only upon inspecting the back from about 8-10". No rips, no tears, no holes noticed.Binding - Machine. Brought over from backing. No fray. See pic 8.Batting - Cotton. Thick and heavy.Weight - 5 1/2 poundsOverall - No odors. No mold. No mildew. No fabric rot. I've not washed this quilt, and hope there is a Goddess of Stain Removal that can improve these blights. Why why why did they not wash this when they spilled on it?
