Vintage VHT Thelwell Plastech - Plastic Pony & Rider - 1960's Up for your bidding consideration is one of the hard to find and sought after vintage Thelwell Pony and Riders from the 60's in great condition. Some of these came in set called Penny's Pony Club. Others were sold separately or with the Thelwell books like "A leg at each corner", "Angels on Horseback", "Thelwell Country", and "Riding Academy". The horse and riders went by various names...Kipper & Penelope (chestnut horse), Angela & Merrylegs (Grey horse), and I actually have never been able to find out the name of the rider with the Palomino! The riders wore various colors of jackets too. This horse and rider are in very good vintage condition...not so often seen in these early and desirable collectables by Thelwell. The Pony's mane and tail are pristine, clean and white! This rider has black hair and her bun in still neat and tidy. No abrasions on the body and rider like normally seen on most of these. The rider even has her eyes! The only damage is the pony is missing his reins and bit loop on one side (see photo), also the rider has no crop. Both can clearly be seen in the photos. The pony carries the "T" brand for Thelwell on his hip. I have two of these delightful ponies...They have brought smiles to many for over 40 years! It is very difficult to part with even one of them. But it is a comfort to know that she and her mount will be going to a home w they will be well loved for many more years to come. Please be sure to read the important new shipping information below.
