VINTAGE HULL POTTERY ORCHID PATTERN EWER NR Up for your bidding pleasure is this beautiful vintage HULL POTTERY EWER produced by the Hull Pottery Co. in 1938. This piece has an ORCHID design on both sides over a matte pink & blue glaze finish. This Ewer measures 12 7/8" tall to the top of the pouring lip x 8" across from the tip of the pouring spout to the outside of the handle and the base measures 4" in diameter. This piece for being 70 years old is in good condition and with the exception a small manufacturer defect of a smooth glazed over chip to the tip of the pouring spout has no other chips or repairs or wear to its decor. However t is tight crazing and a couple of rub marks due to age and has a tight hairline crack to the bottom left side of the pouring lip { please see photos }. It is incised on the bottom; { Hull USA 311 - 13" }. An example of this Ewer can be found on page 47 in The Collectors Encyclopedia of Hull Pottery by Brenda Roberts. Because of the above mentioned issues I am starting this harder to find piece at a reasonable low starting price. This is a wonderful old Hull Ewer that will make a beautiful and valued addition to your vintage Hull Orchid Pottery Collection.
