This is a vintage soup tureen made by Hutschenreuther of Germany around the 1930s when they had an artistic collaboration with Meissen . The pattern matches Meissen's Blue Onion design minus the actual onions. The rest of the pattern is the same though this tureen doesn't have a hole for the ladle, as does Meissen's. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing . It measures about 14" from handle to handle with the length of the open rim just over 10". It has a width of about 8 1/2" and a depth of about 5 1/2". Scroll down for photos of the tureen, the marks on the bottom and enlarged photos . I am selling these Meissen pieces for a widow whose husband collected fine antique porcelain. She has a very large set of Meissen Blue Onion that I will be selling in several lots . I will be including only the unchipped, excellent condition pieces . (If you have an interest in the other, flawed pieces, please email me.) T are more platters, plates in all sizes, bowls, cup and saucers. T is also a very unusual triangle shaped dish that is very rare that is already up for auction. If you have an interest in bidding on these in the future please be sure to add me to your favorites list ! Check out my other items ! See Bidding Tips below.
