ANTIQUE VINTAGE WOODEN ICE SKATES CIRCA 1800 WITH BRASS ACORNS AND LARGE METAL CURL ORIGINAL LEATHER STRAPS AND METAL BUCKLES & RINGS are a fantastic pair of Antique Vintage Wooden Ice Skates dating to the early 1800s. What an unbelievable find!! They are in Excellent Condition considering their age. Slight restoration has been done in order to show the Brass Acorns at the end of the large metal curl. T is also a brass screw on the underside at the back end of the wood under the spike that goes into the shoe to hold on the skates. The length is 11 1/2 inches and the width of wood at the largest part is 2 1/4 inches. The large curl at the front end measures 2 3/4 inches with the detailed brass acorn at the end. These antique skates are in excellent condition with no breaks in the wood. They have aged related wear. The metal blades have no splits or cracks and are really strong and sturdy. The original leather straps are in need of restoration as they are dried and cracked. I will leave that to the professional. However, they are all still attached to the skates. All of the metal buckles and rings are still on the leather. T are also metal nails with flat heads at the front and back of the wooden skates. Both skates have the original heel spike. The wood has a rich aged patina. If you are a collector of antique sporting goods or Americana at its best, these wonderful vintage 1800s wooden ice skates with fabulous brass acorns would make an outstanding addition to your collection or to display. Antique ice skates of this age and condition are definitely not found very often. These fantastic skates will be sent by Priority Mail.
