ITEM DESCRIPTION: Here is a lovely "lightly restored" eighteen inch Shirley Temple from Ideal in the mid 1930s. She is a sweet doll with lovely original finish on her body and head. She is marked on her head 18 SHIRLEY TEMPLE IDEAL Cop N&T and SHIRLEY TEMPLE on her back.She has a lovely replaced mohair wig, renewed sleep eyes with all their sable lashes - (one corner of her lashes are turned up). Jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips, well strung for posing - all fingers and toes present in excellent condition. Open smiling mouth with her original six upper teeth, felt tongue, and a dimple in each cheek, Face paint includes original multi-stroke eyebrows, painted lower eye lashes pale cheek blush and lip paint. COSTUME: Shirley wears a tagged "boat" dress in red, original onesie, socks and shoes. Her dress is missing the boat applique and missing a button in back - the NRA tag is bright. Additional Notes On This Doll: You may ask what a "Lightly Restored" doll is. Good question. Since I restore and sell dolls, I need words to define the varying levels of restoration applied to a doll. I always do the least amount necessary to make the doll look "factory fresh" while keeping her as original as possible. This doll needed a little help - not really all that much.
