VINTAGE IMPERIAL SHELL AND SAND AMETHYST Stunning Imperial Shell and Sand Carnival Glass Bowl, the color is amethyst. This bowel has beautifully ruffled saw tooth rim, shell or clam style design surrounds the inside of this lovely bowl. Glass is smooth on the exterior and pattern is in the interior, with the inside being textured . It is an unmarked piece, but is most likely from the early 1900’s. It measures 7 ¾ inches across and stands 3 inches high. On the bottom of bowl inside of the collar base, their is a line about 1" long, it might be a stress crack from when the mold was released form the base, you can only see it if you hold it upto a light or sun. Other than this the bowl is fantastic condition. Carnival glass normally has straw marks, press lines, tool marks, folds, oil spots, flecks of what appears to be dirt, heat cracks, all which are considered factory flaws , with true carnival glass these should be expected.
