ORIGINAL IRA MCDADE (1867-1954) PENNSYLVANIA IMPRESSIONIST LANDSCAPE OIL PAINTINGThis is just a great original piece. I have owned an Ira McDade Texas painting in the past and sold that one very quickly. That one was not as good a painting as this one is. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. This is one of his earlier works from when he was in Pittsburgh. This painting is an oil on canvasboard measuring 11 x 14 inches. Signed lower left corner. A wonderful Pittsburgh landscape of a stream in autumn. Trees line the stream without there leaves. A rolling hill in the back shows the same colors of fall. Painting is in excellent condition with just some very minor surface grime. Really in excellent condition. Painting doesnt really need to be cleaned but if you did the sky might be the only area that would really benefit. Original period gold wood frame is complimentary and ready to hang. I would definitely say this painting dates to the first quarter of the 20th century before he left for Texas. On the back of the board is an original label from "Pittsburgh Art Co". Frame measures 14 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches. For those not familiar with the artist, his biography from askart reads: " A resident both of Pittsburgh and Fort Worth, Ira McDade was born in Pittsburgh and studied there at the School of Art. read more
