Please ignore the color on that first picture. The tablecloth is an antique ivory color. Every time I tried to edit that first picture for color it got spots all over which was far worse. You see the color in the other two pictures and yes it is still in the package but at the bottom it was opened by people over the years so it isn't air-tight. Dust has been allowed to get in so at the BOTTOM t is some SLIGHT soiling evident so it will have to be cleaned but what a find! This is a true banquet cloth in every sense of the word. The quality of fabric doesn't get much better, Irish linen AND double damask. The size IS banquet, 68" x 140". All of the particulars are on the cloth, that it's Meadow Beach, York St. no. 42. I loved the "it's lovely, it lasts". They sure do, I'll tell you that. These types of cloths are pretty indestructible. The quality can't be beaten. They will last forever. This hails from the 30's or 40's I would estimate and I bet it was a present someone put away and just never used. My mom would've said it was "too high quality" for her table and she would've had it somew for just that "special event" and then forgot about it. The feel of this type of fabric is unbelievable if you are into textiles - "rich" is the only way to describe it. And a more elegant table you will not find. Anyway it's ready for a home w it will get some attention and get out of that bag!! Please ask all questions before the end of the auction as all sales are final. Had several requests to open it so I did quite gingerly and you can see at least partials of what it looks like. I am not going to fully extend it for lots of reasons. It is a geometric pattern meaning that it will have those long bars all the way around. T will be one LONG and large (about 20") of double damask along the entire bottom. The entire center will have a cutout for your beautiful tableware and that, too will be outlined with double damask. I extended it as much as I am going to. It is in unused condition as I suspected. Just gorgeous quality. As most long-term ebayers know t are many collectors out t who are only interested in this because it is in that envelope so I am not about to ruin the ambiance by fully unfolding it. Anyone familiar with these cloths will be able to imagine what this looks like fully extended. If not you will have to take my word this is just a beautiful piece of linen. The double-damask was made years ago, from 1870 on starting on France, to resemble silk and a silken quality this fabric has. Just gorgeous. The Irish linen means it will last forever if taken proper care of. This is just a gorgeous find. Thank you everyone for your interest.
