This set of stoneware was designed byNancy Patterson of Iron Mountain Stoneware. The factory was located in Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee -- it opened in 1965 and operated for 27 years. One of the most frequently produced patterns was Roan Mountain. All pieces were hand-dipped in glazes which produced distinctive lines and consequently triangles of color across the stoneware ‘bodies.’ Roan Mountain is most often seen in shades of brown, yellow, and shades of rust. This set contains the following pieces, all of which are in excellent condition with no chips: 8 - 6” cereal bowls 8 - 6 ¼” saucers 6 - flat bottomed coffee cups 8 - 7 ¾” salad plates 8 - 11” dinner plates 1 - 12 ½” platter Also available are a coffee creamer and coffee cup a with very small chips, which I can include with the set.
