TWO VINTAGE 1950's Cast Metal Bookends
Labrador Retrievers, Pointers, English or Irish Setters with a Copper Over-Wash ESTATE FIND! Just Look at these Gorgeous Old Cast Iron Retrievers, Pointers, or Setters! I believe These Marvelous Hunting Dogs are at least 50 years old and have Assumed a Pointing position next to beautiful old rifles as they watch...what? Game? Their Master? A magnet does not ad so they are not cast iron, but another slightly lighter metal, and they were Finished with a Fabulous Copper overwash. The years have been Very Good to these two boys as the patina of age has only highlighted the details of their fur and facial expressions and improved overall impression. One Old felt bottom piece. Absolute age unknown. BMP 50 embossed on the back. MAGNIFICENT! These Old Bookends stand 5" tall and 3 1/2" across! Each body has been highly detailed with fur, and facial and body details, from tensed muscles to the set of Sensative ears and front paws! These Figures are HEAVY. Almost 2 1/2 pounds total weight on the pair! Age appropriate wear and they need cleaning, but no deep scratches or dings that would detract from their SIMPLE ELEGANCE! The perfect addition to any Hunting Dog or Vintage Canine or Bookend Collection! Please ask questions prior to bidding. Additional photos provided upon request! Item sold as is.
