Very handsome decorative brass and enamel Armillary Sp or model of the solar system. An estate piece from a very good Dallas estate and with definitely some age. Marked "Made in Italy" on the underside of the base with a paper label as shown and otherwise unmarked; I would date it to about the 1960s. About 22" tall and 11" in diameter, it is a very large and impressive piece and please note that shipping is just a little high on this piece due to size. The planets rotate around the central sun clockwise as a group (the planets move as a group on this model, not indepently of one another). This is just a vintage decorative piece; t are only 5 planets shown and I doubt their orbits are shown with any degree of scientific precision. Still, it is extremely handsome as the pics show, a fine decorative piece . Some minor wear to the enamelwork on the planets (see pics) consistent with age. Otherwise perfect without pings, dings, dents, scratches, missing pieces,repairs, etc. All joints secure and not loose and it stands straight and true, not crooked or out of shape in any way. The pics are very honest and show the condition well and you will not be disappointed in the condition of this piece. NO RSERVE and a very low start and the pics tell the rest of the story, a nice eBay opportunity.
