PEARS, GRAPES NESTLE IN A WHITE WOVEN BASKET MINT This elegant centerpiece art sculpture of Italian porcelain is large enough for a dining table and yet small enough to compliment a bookcase or mantel. Deep rich colors of hand-made fruit are artfully arranged with green leaves in a white woven basket that is in one piece. Dark green variegated fig leaves cover the rim of this white ceramic basket holding a variety of fruits in natural but robust color. The marker on the bottom says Hand Painted in Italy, and you can see the care the artist took with each piece of fruit and their leaves. T is a pale green pear touched with red on each side, a red apple with yellow showing through the top skin, a large purple plum, two deep red cherries, a large dappled red strawberry with a green leaves, and a cluster of purple/black grapes on each side. A bright yellow lemon partially covered by a large green leaf sits at the top of the fruit cluster. Large leaves in various shades of green are shaped with curves and crinkled edges and outline the rim of the basket, protecting the fruit. This stunning centerpiece sculpture is in mint condition from a Palm Beach estate and is probably from the 1950âe(tm)s. It has no flaws. Dimensions: 14 inches long by 9 Â½ inches across, and 9 Â½ inches tall. HAND PAINTED, MADE IN ITALY is printed in green, under the glaze, on the bottom. It weighs 6.5 pounds.
