Vintage Italian Sicilian Marionette Knight *This is Saraceo,(one of the bad knights invading the Emperor) a legend fictional character emerged from the eighth-century as one of the Emperor Charlemagne Knights * This is hand made in Sicily and at least over 40 years old. These are a collection from my husband's grandfather, who originally was from Sicily and collected these over the years. These are made of wood, thin pounded metal, wires and different types of cloth. They are hand carved and have hand painted faces, wooden torsos, hands and legs. The arms are usually folded cloth. The body armor is pounded medal which includes the shield, sworn and helmet. This these are handmade by different artists no two are alike. He measures 15 inches and an additional 5 inches with wire hook. He has a rustic armor, which includes body, legs, hands, shoulder, helmet, shield. He has Black hair coming out of the hat type helmet. He is wearing a corduroy light red color pants. He has boots and moon on hat. He is made of dark wood indicating olive skin and is the only one that always has the one gold earring. He does not wear a cape as the others He has a sworn in one hand which has a rod that connects with the top and in the other hand a shield which connects with the top rod also making him a marionette.
