This gorgeous Vintage Italian toleware centerpiece came from an estate sale in Augusta , Georgia..per the dealer that I bought it from. I do not ever see these , they are rarer for toleware. It is a tole arrangement of flowers..roses, orchids, and poppies..and some other flowers and foliage and some wheat stalks as well..in a small urn. This is in very good condition, it has NOT been repainted..typical underlying red and then the gold gilt paint overlay. The flowers come out, they are held in place by a hole and rod in the back of them that inserts onto a rod inside the vase. They also have a hook on the back if someone wanted to hang the flowers on a wall. The arrangement measures 20 ins. high x 12 1/2 ins. wide approx. It is marked on one of the leaves ' Italy ". It is quite heavy. The vase is unmarked but looks like it may have had a sticker or label at one time. The beautiful candleholders that came with this are also marked ..the I is worn, but you can make it out. They measure 7 ins. wide x 9 ins. tall approx. and are in very good condition. They are not as bright gold as my pics seem to show, more muted gold.I wish you could see the 3-Dimensional effect this has..it will be perfect on a table or on a sideboard..anyw . I would place this in the 1960-80's time frame. The dealer that I bought it from only knew most of this man's items were antique or vintage. Any questions, please email me.
