vintage 3 Piece Cast Steam Engine Threshing Set Designed 1955 Take a Look . . . Up for bid is this vintage 3 Pc. Cast Steam Engine Threshing Set . I aquired this 3 pc. set from a recent estate sale. From research prior to listing this item, I found that this is a cast metal scale model of a J. I. Case Threshing Set. This was handmade from sand cast aoluminum and hand painted. Made in Illinois, I do not know the name of the manufacturer. This set was designed in 1955 from the original Case drawings . I measures about 29-1/2" long when coupled together. This three piece set includes: 60 HP Case Steam Traction Engine Tractor , a Case Steel Water Tank ( which is also a bank , with coin slot in top ), and a Case Steel Threshing Machine Separator . The Case Steam Engine Tractor measures approx. 9" x 3-1/2" x 5" tall. The Case Water Tank car measures: 6" x 2-5/8" x 3-3/8" tall . The Case Threshing Machine measures: 13-5/8" x 2-3/8" x 5-1/8" tall . All three pieces are nicely detailed . The Case Steam Engine Tractor features a cast iron figurine of a man with hat and beard. T is also a cast miniature shovel and pry rod piece. All three pieces are marked with Case logos . This is in very nice condition, with minimal paint loss. These were well-taken care of over the years it appears. This was designed after an actual threshing machine back in the 1950's. A threshing machine was used in the fields to put grain into the machine and it would thresh or separate the kernels from the straw and chaff in one process. A great piece of history ! A fine addition to any collection of cast metal steam engines and farm equipment miniatures. Please look at all of our digital photographs on the listing.
