Vintage Jaeger LeCoultreFuturematic 10k Gold Filled Automatic Watch A fabulous 10 carat gold filled Futurematic wrist watch made by Jaeger LeCoultre, dating to about 1953 in excellent overall condition considering it's age. As you probably already know JLC invented the first automatic watch without a crown, thus making it one of the most collectable and innovative models manufactured by this prestigious company. There are a few variations on the Futurematic, but this one is the most classically Art Deco styled and the most sought after with it's "bull horn" lugs and beautiful dial it always attracts compliments. The watch displays a chronograph style dial with two registers, one being the Power Reserve Indicator and the other a seconds dial. The case houses an automatic “bumper” movement, especially designed for the Futurematic model. Jaeger LeCoultre was so confident about the quality of this new movement that the company decided not to spoil the aesthetics of the watch by adding a crown. Instead it has a disc on the back cover which slides inwards to set the time. The case and crystal are in fine condition, the wear being commensurate with a well looked after watch of this age. The dial is an exquisite two tone silver design that reflects slightly differently depending on the lighting conditions and is about as perfect as read more
