Attention Ebay and Regulatory Officials: PLEASE NOTE: This item contains pre-ban African elephant ivory that is being sold in accordance with the laws and regulations set forth by the U.S Fish and Wildlife service, as well as within the parameters of E-bay policies regarding such sales. For shipment and sale within the United States Only! This was imported into the U.S before the ban. I am in legal possession of this item and I am a registered member on E-Bay with a US address.

This is a unique figurine, a vintage Japanese netsuke of a man holding a sack. He has a foot elevated on a stump.
It is amazingly fine and is made from pre-ban African elephant ivory and superbly hand carved. It is also decorated with hand painting and a pale amber stain. It looks like t is a restoration to the right foot on the stump and possibly the left foot too which has a crack. T is a hairline across the head too but it looks so old and darkened, it may be original to the carving. It is signed on the bottom. A great old netsuke figurine!

It is approximately 3" high x 1 3/8" wide.

Remember after the end of this year, ivory of any kind will not be sold on ebay and so it will be harder to find quality vintage pieces.
