Vintage Japanese Ichimatsu 14" Boy Doll with Black HairAnd Kimono Outfit ~ This is a 5 Day, NO RESERVE auction ***Please note:*** For USA: We ship via US Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Note: We have a smoke free home, with one well-behaved kitty in residence. Estate Find: Vintage Japanese Ichimatsu boy doll has black hair and comes with kimono outfit (no mfg box or other items included). The only mfg markings are the Japanese lettering stamped in red on the paper wrapped around the front of his body (see photo). The doll himself is old, the kimono is not original to him, and is also not as old as doll. The doll measures approximately 14" and is made of papier mache and/or composition, with what looks to be a pink gofun surface to his face, lower arms/hands and lower legs/feet. He has a sweet face, with dark inset (stationary eyes), with delicately incised detailing around eyelids, nostrils, and chin, his ears are very well sculpted and realistic, they have a small factory hole in the center of each ear. The lips are painted a delicate peachy-pink color. His original short, black boy's wig is glued to his head. The doll is jointed at the neck (a socket style head, so it can be gently posed), and his arms and legs are "swing" style, with cloth for the upper arms and upper legs. His legs are designed so that he can be posed sitting or standing (note: to stand, he requires a doll stand, not included). He has a papier mache and/or compo shoulder plate, and his lower body (hips/crotch area) are also made of papier mache and/or compo. The middle of his body is made of the old, original tea-color paper, which is glued to the shoulder plate at the top, and to the lower hip area, so his "middle" is actually paper. His hands are nicely sculpted, as are his feet. All fingers and toes are intact. Doll is in good basic condition, but being an old doll and previously owned, he is not perfect. He has surface soiling, with some dirt marks / small stains to his surfaces. There are cracks in his face, and his eyebrows are faded away. There is a crack in the underside of his right lower arm, and you can also see the white underlying color here. The paper areas of his body are delicate looking with wrinkles and crinkling, the fabric sections of his upper arms and upper legs are light tea color, with some staining here and there. There is some minor chipping to the fingers of his right hand. His wig looks pretty good, a little mussed. The kimono that is included with doll is not original to him, and clearly not as old, although it is vintage. Kimono looks to be a male style, made of dark navy blue and lighter blue block print cotton, with red trim and a little white trim at the sleeves. It is fastened with a metal safety pin (also not original). Kimono in good shape, some wrinkling/soiling, some of the stitching is loosening , with some interior frays.
