Vintage Japanese Ink Drawing Signed Art Painting /Japan Japanese Woman Watching Fish from a Pier

We have been commissioned to sell 9 different old paintings from the estate of Mr. John Hohenberg. Most of these are of Chinese or Japanese origin and were framed in the 1950s but we believe they are a lot older than that. We cannot read Japanese or Chinese so our knowledge and descriptions will be quite limited. If you can read the signatures and writing please take time to look at our other listings...these are all nice paintings and well worth your time. Below the description t is a quick bio of Mr. Hohenberg,

I have no idea what the writing on the right 2 corners means but one of them is probably the artist's name. This is an original ink painting in old Japanese style and I have no idea when it was painted but I am guessing that it was in the early 1900s. The gold frame is 17" X 13" with the actual art work being 12" X 8". No damage to the painting but some minor paint wear to the frame.

John Hohenberg was born in 1906 in New York's lower east side but lived most of his childhood in Seattle. He launched his career at the age of seventeen by interviewing President Warren Harding and wrote about Presidents Roosevelt and Truman. He twice traveled to Vietnam on book assignments and was on the Far East lecture tours during the Eisenhower and Reagan administrations.
After 25 years of journalism and public service, Hohenberg began an academic career that lasted 40 years. Beginning at Columbia University in 1950 he taught some 5,000 students including helping undergraduates edit Associated Press copy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes and wrote 15 books including three that won prizes from the Society of Professional Journalists: "Great Reporters and Their Times", "Between Two Worlds" and "A Crisis for the American Press". Upon leaving Columbia he was given a Pulitzer Price Special Award for his services to American Journalism. He died in 2000 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
