Up for auction is a very nice Kyoto style Japanese cloisonne desk set. As you can see it is almost complete. It is missing the rest of the letter opener and one of the corner holders as well as the inside of the inkwell. The picture frame is 3 7/8ths inches by 4 5/8ths inches and the wire support is loose but it stands up fine. The back enameling has some stress lines. To the right is the paper roller thing? It is 5 1/8 inches long by 2 1/4 inches tall. No issues. To the left of that is the mail holder which is 4 3/8ths inches tall by 6 inches wide. The 2 front panels looks like they have been reattached and are crooked but hold up fine. In front of this is a little bird head topped inkwell with no "well". It stands 2 3/4 inches tall by 2 inches square. He has a very pointy beak and a blue cobalt head. Very cute! In the middle are the 3 corners. They have brass backs and one is bent. From point to point they are 5 inches and 2 1/2 inches from tip to bottom. In front of that is the long tray which is 8 5/8th inches long by 2 3/4 by 1/2 inch tall. The back enameling has some stress lines and each of its corners has bits of missing enamel. In front of the picture frame is a little box with a lid that lifts up. It is 2 3/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches tall. And finally to the right of that is the letter opener but only the handle. The rest is gone. It is 4 inches long. Other than normal pitting none have any enamel loss than what I have stated above. It's a very beautiful set with all the colorful butterflies. Thanks for looking.
