Vintage Japanese Needlepoint Unknown Seaport I am auctioning a needlepoint panorama of a Japanese seaport circa World War II. The framed finished view is app. 33 x 8". It is difficult to photograph the completed work to show the detail in the stitching, tfore I have taken several pictures to show the detail of the crafters finished product. T are app. 40 stitches to the inch. The crafter has a view of the peninsula from a higher point than the city. The remarkable view takes in the harbor with several ships that appear to be naval vessels. The city stretched out to the right of the harbor appears to end with a waterfront that engages in some industry. T are Japanese symbols on the left side of the work. I have tried to show the detail of the stitching and the crafters ability to capture the minute detail of the city. The detail is as fine as any photograph that may have been taken from the same view. T is a small stain from moisture in the left corner but it in no way detracts from the picture.
