Up for auction is a vintage Satsuma Moriage Japanese lamp. It is genuinely old, NOT modern reproduction. I don't know the year it was made. I believe it is late 19th to early 20th century. It is entirely handpainted, Just look at the details! It's all done by hand. The earthtone colors and use of metallic gold are stunning. The background glaze is a crackle glaze, which appears to be intentional. I find only 1 very tiny flake in the glaze.In one photograph,it photographed much worse thatn it actually is, because I came up from below with the camera, to get a good shot of it.I shot another photograph to show it from the angle the lamp would be viewed. It isn't really noticeable because it is almost under the metal rim of the lamp, and the color of it blends right in with the background. It wasn't discovered until minutes ago when I put this on a table and really searched for any flaws. Very minor, it but needs to be mentioned.The base of the lamp is metal. The lamp works, and has a three-way switch. There is a lampshade and finial for the shade that I will include with the lamp if you would like them. I can email you photos of them if you like. The lamp is about 20 inches tall and about 9 inches at its widest point.

I have a vintage Satsuma Moriage urn or planter listed separately in another auction. I was told in a verbal appraisal by someone with knowledge of Asian ceramics that he believed that the 2 pieces most likely came from the same kiln or maker. You are bidding one one vintage lamp.
